Practice Schedule
Recreational Program Key Points
The recreational program provides an opportunity for players of all skill levels to enjoy and play the game of soccer in our community.
Age levels
All players at the U6-U10 age levels (typically 5-9 year olds) play in the recreational program. Players at the U11-U19 levels (typically 10-18 years old) can choose to continue playing in the recreational program or play at a more competitive level in our select program.
How teams are organized
Coaches cannot pick players they want on their team. Players can request to be on a team but the club tries to honor these requests based on the date/time players sign up to play once online registration has started following WSYSA Policies.
Practices
Practices start the end of July or August (depending on the team and coach)
The club supplies balls and cones for practices - players need shin guards, proper clothing and water.
Games
The club supplies uniforms for games - U6 players get t-shirts and U7-U19 players get uniform kits consisting of a jersey, shorts, and socks.
Players play league games in autumn starting the weekend after Labor Day, U6-U11 ends the weekend before Thanksgiving, U12-U19 typically ends in early December.
Players play on Fife-Milton-Edgewood (FME) teams against teams from other soccer clubs that are members of the Pierce County Soccer Association (PCSA) formerly named Tacoma Pierce County Junior Soccer Association (TPCJSA). This association covers a wide geographical area. So some travel time will be required to attend away games but in general PCSA tries to place FME teams in divisions with teams from neighboring clubs like Puyallup, Franklin Pierce, Norpoint, etc...For a list of clubs withing the PCSA boundaries, you can visit the PCSA website.
